Preparing for heaven—holy working

The hope and glory of heaven stir us to action. Christians are people who are looking forward, and it transforms the way in which we live. Peter, full of concern for the people he loves, encourages a spirit of diligence, reminds them of their coming encounter with the risen Christ, and points them to the character they need to cultivate in anticipation of the return of their Saviour and the making of all things new.
