Circumcision - A Worthless External Work

Having condemned the Jewish religious person in Romans 2:17-24 for claiming to be saved by his possession of the Law, in v. 25-29 Paul condemns the Jewish person who claims salvation based upon taking of the covenant sign of circumcision. Paul explains that God does not look at the external sign . . . circumcision of the flesh . . . but looks at the transformed heart . . . circumcision of the heart . . . to determine if a person is truly saved or not.
