Question of the Day

After a day of questions from the religious leaders came the question
of the day from Jesus. The question was a follow up to the common
understanding that the Messiah was the son of David. Of course he was, but he was much more than that, as Jesus indicated by quoting Psalm 110:1. So the question of the day is: if Psalm 110:1 says that the Lord will speak to David's Lord and tell him to sit his right hand,
how can David's Lord also be David's son? The profound answer is that the Messiah is the son of David as well as the Son of God. The
religious leaders couldn't answer Jesus' question, because they
didn't have the theological categories that could harmonize both
truths.
