What Is Saving Faith? 1824

Saving Faith is of inexpressible Importance, and of indispensable necessity. Without it, a sinner can have no vital Union with the Savior, no spiritual Communion with him in his righteousness and fulness, no real conformity to him, as " the first-born among many brethren ," and no enjoyment of him , as the Head of spiritual influences to his mystical body. It is by faith that a man is justified . By means of faith , he is sanctified , and his heart is purified . It is by the frequent exercise of trusting in the Lord Jesus, that the believer derives from his fulness, renewed supplies of sanctifying and consoling grace;
to enable him to perform all his duties in a spiritual manner, and to serve the Lord his God " with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart . "
