The Book of Acts is providing information regarding the developing New Testament Church. The focus to a large amount is going away from Jerusalem to the expanding growing congregations of believers in other places.

Acts 12 is a reminder of what's takeing place back in Jerusalem while the Church is expanding and growing in different directions. In Jerusalem the Herod is causing havoc with the church, kills James and ends up being eaten by worms.
