In 1 Kings 12:26-33, we find Jeroboam reorganizing and redefining worship to please the people and maintain their loyalty. Guided by the pragmatism of worldly wisdom, he corrupted worship with idolatrous practices. The same worldly approaches to worship are too often employed today, as church leaders seek to please people rather than God.
