Nabeel Qureshi Gone to Glory

308

Our brother in Christ, Nabeel Qureshi, went home to Glory yesterday. We had prayed for his healing, but the Lord knew better than us!

He was converted from Islam to Christ during medical school. His parents love him, yet weep that he has left the religion of his youth. He was a powerful evangelist and apologist for the Christian faith.

Yet the Lord took him home at the age of 34.

People will ask, why didn't God heal Nabeel? Why was He so cruel to His servant? Some will scoff that this is what happens when a man abandons Islam.

But to take such a view is to completely miss the glory that Nabeel has entered into! The Apostle Paul discussed this matter when he was in prison and in jeopardy of his life.

Paul wrote that it would be far better for him to die and be with Christ in Glory, but that it was more needful for the saints for him to stay alive at present.

Sure enough, Paul was used by God to write even more Scripture which has been essential to the happiness and understanding of God's people!

But we ought to embrace Paul's viewpoint: it is better for us to die right now and be with Christ!

Indeed, the Lord does His saints the greatest kindness when He takes us home to glory to be with Him!

So when God took Nabeel away yesterday, He was doing what was best for Nabeel! Nabeel had fought for the Gospel for years, but yesterday, the battle lines swept over his position on the field, and suddenly he found himself safe behind our Prince's lines - safe at home at last!

The place where Nabeel is now has been cleared of all that is sad and hurtful and opposed to the Lamb!

There is no mourning by Nabeel in glory, only shouts of victory and praise!
