Grace for Dogs

Matthew 13:54–16:20 is a section that reveals the identity of Jesus to Israel and the world. In our passage tonight, Jesus reveals himself to Gentiles. Israel had been God’s chosen people for two thousand years with a Gentile here and a Gentile there being converted. This led the Jews to think of the Gentiles as insignificant, calling them “dogs.” Tonight Jesus reveals grace for dogs—for sinners like you and me.
