God's Covenant Affirmed

God' covenant, crystallized in the Ten Word he spoke to Israel and then wrote on the tablets of stone, was to be affirmed by Israel in a covenant ceremony. This was a matter of great dignity for them, and great grace. They did not live up to their affirmation, and thus showed that the Law had not yet been written on their hearts.
