Agreeing with our Heavenly Adversary

Spiritual application of our Lord's instructions to reconcile with our legal opponent. God is the Adversary of sinners; He may require payment for our sins at any time; we must agree with Him quickly if we are to avoid the prison of hell; the ground of our reconciliation is the suffering and death of Christ, who entered the prison of death, 'paid the uttermost farthing', and 'came out thence'. God's present willingness to receive sinners.
