Nehemiah: Spiritual Lessons From God's Master Builder, Part 9

Having completed reconstructing the city walls, it was now time to restore and rebuild God's people. And, having seen God at work overcoming opposition and various odds that came against them, the people now yearned to hear the Word of God read and explained that they might be restored as His people.

The greatest end of man is to be reconciled with his Creator and to enjoy the restoration of his relationship with Him. Here, in this important chapter, we find the Basic Elements for a life restored, in commuion with the Creator.

Early church father Irenaeus intimates, 'The glory of God is a living man; and the life of a man consists in beholding God.' This is the essence of all human life.
