The Great War in Heaven

While the first section of Revelation 12 introduces the participants of the Great Conflict through earth's history, the middle of the chapter describes the Great War that breaks out in heaven between the demonic hosts of Satan and the holy angels of heaven lead by Michael the archangel. This battle results in Satan and his demons being permanently expelled from heaven and confined to the earth through the last half of the Great Tribulation.
