"Genesis": The first book of the Bible is Genesis. Genesis is the Latin word for "beginning". It is so named because the first word in Hebrew is the word "beginning" (bereshith). However, aside from this, Genesis truly is a whole book of beginnings. It tells of things like the beginning of the world, of man, of marriage, of sin, of clothing, of babies, of murder, of cities, and of the first promise about the coming of Jesus.
