The Reason for John the Baptist

God does not just live in the big cities, but He lives in the smallest villages as well. The religious leaders of John the Baptist's days wanted to know why people were flocking to the wilderness. John did not come to make a name for himself, he was here to point to Jesus, the Son of God. If messages are from God, we will not be focused on the preacher, but instead on Jesus and the message will be a call to repentance. All of us start our lives thinking that life is all about us. The reason Jesus came because He loves us despite our selfishness and deceitful hearts. Baptism is a picture of God's grace and salvation, but it cannot save us. Instead we need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Have you been born again? Have you been born of God? If someone asked you what you are all about, would you talk about you or Him?
