Luke 22:21-23 (Part 1)
Series Luke
Introduction
Look around the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told…the righteous shall live by faith… (Hab. 1:5; 2:4)
I.The Hand on the Table
A. Betrayed by a Friend (Psalm 41:9; Jn. 13:18-21)
…everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. (Lk. 24:44)
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. (Ps. 41:9)
B. Judas & the Lord's Supper (Matt. 26:20-25; Jn. 13:21-30)
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.” (Matt. 23:13-15)
For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” (1 Cor. 5:12-13)
