Hebrews 6:4-6 The Sin of Death

295

Hebrews 6:4-6: This is dire warning to believers who have accepted Jesus Christ, telling them you can't go out and behave like you were before. These verses are talking about a group of people who you see come kneel down and make a commitment to Christ, and then they backslide later in life, returning to lying, stealing, cheating, etc. Once you have identified yourself with Christ, you cannot go back into the world and live the way you want to. You have to understand a lot about the word of God to be able to commit this sin. It's not committed by a nonbeliever or a brand new Christian. It's talking about your life, your life style, and what you do with your life after you have accepted Christ. It is a sin of death. It is impossible to come back to the Lord after this. Christians cannot just live how they want to. They must obey the word of Christ.

4 For it is impossible for those who were 1)once enlightened, and have 2)tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made 3)partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have 4)tasted the good word of God, and the 5)powers of the age to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.(

1 Cor 3:10-15 Paul is the author. He tells of the warning also, about the foundation of Christ, now you have to build on it, but be careful how you build on this foundation. Every man's work shall be made manifest and judged accordingly.
