God's King

Unlike Saul, David was prepared to fulfil the role of King and represent his people in battle against the Philistines. But he knew the battle was the Lord's. He foreshadowed the King to come. Also the point of his victory was not to glorify himself, but to demonstrate that salvation can only come from Yahweh. Jerome explains.
