A Garden Within a Garden, Part 3

Does the account of Deborah's role in the battle against Sisera's forces support a role for women in the military? The answer is a resounding, "No!" Deborah does not take part in the battle (Judges 4:14)and is described in the battle song of Judges 5 as a "mother in Israel." She is not praised for skills in battle, but for fulfilling the role for which God created her. She sustains and nurtures life within Israel with a courage that equals that of any man on the battlefield.
