Equipped for Mission

We have been hearing much of the Mission of God, and that as his children, we have been called to participate with God in this mission. With what are we to go on this mission?

The Father has not left us to work this out for ourselves, nor to find our own resources. He has 'blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places' and equipped us with all we need to share with him in achieving his plan and purpose for Creation. We have been given 'gifts for going, weapons for warring, power for proclaiming' None of these are to be used for political purposes or gaining worldly power or fame, nor are they to be brandished in arrogant macho-ism. They are given with the express purpose of building up the body of Christ and the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry - and they are to be exercised in love or else they amount to nothing.

Our loving, heavenly Father knows how to give good gifts, the greatest of which is the inexpressible gift of his grace in his Son. As recipients of his love and grace, fully equipped to share in his mission of love to the world, what can we do but proclaim his loving kindness to the world?
