Shoe shopping

Shoes certainly make the man or woman. In the patriarchal times of the Bible the man of the house had shoes and his male heirs received shoes. Once a wife had proven herself she could get shoes and if rich enough the girls might could have shoes. Trusted servants might be given shoes but slaves never got shoes. Shoes make it possible to look fashionable or appropriate for the occasion or give us the ability to do certain things such as cleats allow you to run through the grass to chase a fly ball of bowling shoes allow you to slide as you approach your lane and keep your momentum. This is especially true given their symbolism in the Bible. Shoes represents authority, the ability to go and do what is necessary, to do what we have been told to do. Trouble is what kind of shoes are we planning on wearing and are we matching them up to the proper occasion?
