Jesus, The Second Adam

Let us revisit the popular verse of Genesis 3:15 this evening to understand how Jesus Christ received this title and learn a little more about what it means. Genesis 3:15 states, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This is the first proclamation of the Gospel in the Bible and the first preacher was God Himself. God is the Gospel. He is the Good News. As you recall, Adam and Eve had just made a mess out of their life. They had blown their chance at perfection. They had wandered into darkness, confusion, and blame-shifting. They had died spiritually and felt the awful pain of being separated from God. Thank God that He came to seek and save the lost. He is the initiator in the salvation process. Jesus came as the Second Adam to redeem the lost.
