Fatal Neglect

If "the word spoken through angels" had such authority and firmly enforced penalties for violation (Hebrews 2:2) what must be the consequences when God speaks the gospel of grace through His Son and it is disregarded? This question expresses the rationale set forth against the danger of drifting away from "what we have heard" (Hebrews 2:1). The rhetorical question, "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?" is expounded. This question is addressed primarily to professing believers who must persevere not drift away from or apathetically neglect the practice of their profession of commitment to Christ.
