Drifting Away

We begin our consideration of Hebrews 2:1-4 the first of six warning passages in Hebrews. The anonymous author warns the readers about the danger of drifting away from the anchorage of the gospel and calls them to "pay much closer attention to what we have heard." Six observations are made concerning the warning passage. An outline is set forth and 2:1 is expounded and applied. What does our use of the Lord's Day, preparation for and participation in corporate worship, use of time and money, family life, consistency with the private means of grace, our real enthusiasms and interests say about us. Are we drifting or paying much closer attention?
