The Privilege of Access
Series Isaiah
Idea: In Christ, we have liberty of access to the throne of grace, and the unspeakable privilege of appealing to the living God in our time of need. (cf.Matthew Henry)
- Orientation toward God
- Repentance
- Trust in God's Promises
- Covenant Appeal
We have liberty of access to God because of our redeemer, Jesus. He lives to make intercession for us. Hebrews describes him as the anchor for our souls. That's such an appropriate description in the midst of the storms of life. Our anchor holds us. When the storms rise, we turn to the LORD. Our orientation is to Him, because our anchor is Christ. We come to him in repentance, knowing that Jesus is our righteous redeemer. We trust in Him, knowing that He who has promised will keep His word. And we honor our covenant making and covenant keeping God, who has redeemed us in Jesus Christ.
