FWp15 "Swearing, Oaths, and Christians"

In this message we look at the practice of those who were swearing and making oaths, but we will consider if James and Jesus were forbidding the taking of oaths of any kind. We will consider What they were actually doing and what was taking place. Then, what they should have been doing. And finally, consider what if they failed to do what they should have been doing. Not all oath-taking was forbidden, but the flippant, casual attitude of making careless oaths and swearing were forbidden. I claim no originality, but I will refer, quote, cite, and heavily rely on various authors such as Manton, Davids, Kistemaker, Moo, and many others, for this particular message. A very serious topic.
