Paul Prepares Readers for Foolish Boasting

Battling the Sophists who have crept into the church at Corinth with a false doctrine, Paul uses the same method they use- boasting. Not wanting the church to misunderstand his purpose, he introduces his readers to his ironic use of boasting to engage the rhetorical folly of the false ministers.
