The devil is the father of lies and all lies are counterfeit. One of the greatest counterfeits is the teaching that if God elected a people to save based on his own sovereign will then God is not good. The word of God says just the opposite, that God's choice to show mercy on whom he will is a manifestation of his "goodness." (Exodus 33:19)
