Jesus prayed for the sanctification of His people

On behalf of God's elect, Jesus requested: "sanctify them". He made a powerful statement by speaking of the gospel as "truth"; by speaking of His substitution as "for their sakes"; and, of His own suffering unto death as "I sanctify myself". He presented His Work as the single condition for the Father to sanctify them saying "that they also might be sanctified". His prayer was answered at and by the Cross.
