The Time has Come

We commence a new series through the Gospel according to Mark this week. Mark's gospel is filled with action. Each event follows the other "immediately" - a word which appears up to forty times throughout the gospel. And yet, however eager Mark is to get into the action, he begins his gospel with a word of preparation. He shows us how God prepared the way through the prophets for his Son to come and establish his kingdom. He also shows how the people of God were prepared for his coming - by confessing their sins, repenting and believing the gospel. Are we ready for the coming day of the Lord? Are we prepared for the King of Kings to draw near? The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
