The King's Prerogative To Reveal The Father

The Jewish leaders and people had different reactions to John the Baptist's ministry. Even though John was the greatest of the prophets, many tried to steal John's momentum for their own cause. Others simply ignored the call to repent, even when it came from One greater than John and attended with supernatural proofs. If the natural tendency of man is to reject a call to repent, how do we explain anyone repenting? How is it that anyone believes? The answer is that God the Father has chosen the truth to be hidden from some and revealed to others. Furthermore, the Father's choice is effectuated through the power of the King, Jesus Christ. The Kingdom which John and Jesus announced is built, not through the power of persuasion which hopes that some might believe; but through the power of the King who will most certainly bring all whom the Father has chosen.
