The Root and Resource of A Holy Tongue

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14

David prays that not only would his words be pleasing to God, but so would the meditations of his heart. Christ said that "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

He also said in that same passage that "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things."

Whatever we treasure up in our hearts will be seen in how we use our tongues. This message shows us what we need to keep out of our hearts and what we need to store up in them so that our words are pleasing to the Lord.
