The True Bridegroom and the Friend of the Bridegroom

We move on today into a new section of the Gospel of John, which we have entitled, “The True Bridegroom, and the Friend of the Bridegroom.” But before we do so, we complete our consideration of the final paragraph of the portion of John’s Gospel which we have called, “Jesus, the Brazen Serpent, and Saving Faith.”
