The Hideous Doctrine of Hell

This message is the first of six messages on Divine Judgment (HELL) delivered at our church campout over the Labor Day weekend. The Hideous Doctrine of Hell answers the question, “Why preach the doctrine of hell?” The Biblical message of hell has fallen upon hard times in our pulpits today. This is a tragedy in that hell shows us the holiness of God, the sinfulness of sin, and the magnitude of God's grace in the Gospel. Isaiah 66:2 says, “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.” These six messages moved many to realize the poverty of their sin, to be broken and contrite in spirit, and to tremble at God's Holy Word.
