Justifying Righteousness

The wisdom from God which Christ became to His people signifies the design, accomplishment and disclosure of a salvation in Christ which takes into account the character of God, the demands of God's Law and the desparate condition of sinful men. It involves a remedy for all that sin has done to man. The legal problem of a sinner's guilt is answered by 'Christ Jesus ... became to us ... righteousness.' On the grounds of the righteousness of His perfect obedience, God may be 'just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.'
