The Questioning of Authority

The chief priests and elders coming to Jesus as He was teaching in the Temple, the time of the Passover was drawing very near and therefore the day of His crucifixion drawing very near; they came questioning His authority. Wanting to know by what authority he taught in the temple, and by what authority he rode into Jerusalem as a king, and cursed the fig tree, and by what authority he caused them great financial loss in casting out the merchandisers.
