False Teachers, Gullible Women

When Paul speaks in this passage about those who enter into households and take captive weak women who are weighed down by sins and led on by various impulses, he seems to be describing false teachers, for that is their modus operandi. False teachers love to prey on gullible, unbelieving women. It is not that all women are weak-minded. But some certainly are, and it is those who are prime targets for false teachers. Think of the liberal church today? Where would it be without weak-minded women to occupy its pews? Think of the health and wealth prosperity churches? Where would they be without weak-minded women to subsidize their heresies? Think of Catholicism. Where would it be without religiously zealous, but weak-minded women?
