Sound Baptists are not protestant bodies; one of the reasons for that is their founder and their origin. Another critical issue is that most protestants loudly proclaim that Jesus died for every body and the difference between the regenerate and the unbeliever is the exercise of their free will. I do not, and most sound Baptists do not believe that. God chose a people and loved them, well before the creation of Adam. He gave them to Christ as an inheritance for whom Jesus would stand Surety. The concept of universal redemption is a damning doctrine embraced by many but which blesses none.
