Antiochus Epiphanes Arises Pt 4

A new "king" arises on the scene, Antiochus Epiphanes. He is despicable, deceptive and evil. He takes over the northern kingdom without the authority to rule, lies to get his way and then leaves death and destruction in his wake. He dominates the southern kingdom of Egypt during his reign, but when the Romans stop him from having total control, he takes out his anger and aggression on the nation of Israel. His greatest evil involves the desecration of the temple, the doing away of the sacrificial system and the abomination of desolation when he slaughters a pig and offers it on the altar.
