As Paul begins his instruction on justification by faith, he first begins by addressing the issue of man's depravity. After all, if you don't recognize a need to be saved, what good is the "good news" of Jesus Christ? Paul begins by addressing the depravity of "immoral people" in Romans 1:18-32 before moving on to address the lost condition of "moral people" in Romans 2:1-16 and "religious people" in Romans 2:17-3:9.
