Our Purpose and Priorities

1 John 4:7-5:3
Acts 2:40-47

Introduction

• 'The Main Thing, is to keep the Main Thing, the Main Thing'
• Example of Early Church

We will make a priority of:

1. Worshipping God publicly and with all our hearts

• 2 Cor 6:16 - 'for you are the temple of the living God'
• Acts 2:42
  • Coming together to hear the Word of God being taught

2. Corporate prayer and study of the scriptures

• Early Church was born and bred in a prayer meeting
  • ie. Acts 1:12-14 ; 4:23-31; 12:5-20; 20:36

3. Building a loving community

• a loving community
• sharing in common
• 1 John 4 - we show we love God by showing we love one another

4. Actively sharing the gospel

• Acts 2:44-47
  a) it was the Lord's work
  b) example of the Church
