The Offense of the Cross

The old Gospel of a bloody Cross and an exalted Redeemer was very offensive to the carnal mind. But there is no scandal, no offense in the "gospel" of today.

Such a message wouild not be recognized by the Apostle Paul and the true preaches of the Cross all down the ages.

The death of Christ is preached, and brings no offense to anyone. But the real MESSAGE of the Cross, of a crucified Messiah, is utterly rejected. Men will not hear it, for it strips them of all their righteousnesses and all their good opinions of themselves.

Leave out the OFFENSE, and the heart of the Gospel is gone.
