But Now — Justified in Christ Jesus, Part 2

As Paul begins to lay out the truly good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He tells us that it is a work that is all of God, for His glory, according to His righteousness, according to His justice. As we continue digging down to see the rich foundation that Paul is laying for subsequent exposition, we are confronted with the basis for this righteousness from God. It is nothing less than the sacrificial work of Jesus upon the cross, His propitiation of God's wrath toward sin on our behalf. This is the only way righteousness can be imputed to sinful humanity. God's wrath is real, but He has sent forth His Son Jesus to redeem us by His blood — He has appeased that wrath at the cross in laying down His life on our behalf as an atoning sacrifice. There is no other.
