The big question: do you know Jesus? More than that, do you KNOW him? It is through a living relationship with Christ through faith that we access the very power which raised him from the grave, and this power enables us to be better servants. Paul then tells how his identity with the Lord comes through suffering. Furthermore, his end goal, the one thing he hoped for above all else was his future resurrection. We see how believers routinely use language in their eschatology very different from Paul's. Where they talk of heaven, he talks of resurrection.
