Why Some Professions Of Faith Fail

Why do some professions of faith fail? Before we can answer this question, we must have a fundamental understanding about this business we call salvation. Salvation is a work of God that involves the whole man, his mind, heart, and will. Some of the primary reasons that some people never come to truly know Christ even though they profess to do so:
1-Some professions involve the mind only--a mere intellectual comprehension of the facts of the gospel.
2-Some profess faith on the basis of emotion only.
3-Some profess Christ without decisively breaking from their sins--a problem of the will.
4-Some come to Christ for the wrong reason.
5-Some, while they profess to trust Christ for salvation, are in fact trusting something else.
