The Sure Mercies of David

What do you think of the Christ? Whose Son is He? is a question Jesus himself ask. The NT thunders back- The Christ- Jesus of Nazareth- is the Son of David and the Son of God. He is both David's son (descendant) and he is David's Lord. This sermon explores God's covenant with David (2 Samuel 7) and how it is fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and his ascension and heavenly reign as King of God's kingdom. The application looks at the way God in mercy treated David and his son, Solomon when they sinned in contrast to Saul. As participants in the covenant with David through faith in Christ we enjoy the sure mercies of David.
