The Uses of Adversity

Suffering is not only likely in this life, it is guaranteed. None of us welcomes it, but all of us will undergo it. But Jesus, the man of sorrows acquainted with grief, is there in the midst of all of your troubles. He is not some far away, uncaring God, but the supremely compassionate One who gives us His grace to bear all things.
