Christianity is not something Christians do alone but together. In fact, the church is called the household of God. Paul is amazed as he writes his letter to the Ephesians. The magnitude of God's plan of salvation is astounding. It is eternal and includes all nations represented in the church. This privilege translates to real practicalities in the church. Truthful speech is one thing Paul highlights. Resolving anger quickly is another. Both are destructing in relationships. Deliberate effort to speak and act in order to please the Holy Spirit is presupposed. Cynical and negative attitudes are also out of place in this family. Rather, forgiveness that resembles the forgiveness of Christ should characterise our lives. Christians should, in a nutshell, walk in love.
