The Legal Phase of Salvation

God could not remain just and simply dismiss all of the charges against the elect. A penalty had to be paid for the sin transgression. God knew this before Adam was every put in the garden. He also knew that none of the heirs of men would be pure enough to to pay this debt to even the smallest degree. Salvation then called for a substitutionary atonement. Jesus would have to become a man and die the death to which man was condemned. By filling the requirements of justice, Jesus provided absolute salvation for all of the elect, while God remained just and holy against all unrighteousness.
