A Man Named John

This message was given by Pastor Jonathan Stobbs as he continued his morning ministry in the Gospel of John.
Who was John the Baptist? Why is he included in this marvellous prologue of the deity of Christ? In this message Pastor Stobbs speaks about John's commission, John's mission, and John's purpose. All of those centre around proclaiming Christ as the only Saviour of the World. John the Baptist was truly sent by God and as such he had a very important role as he
immediately preceded the Messiah. After 400 years of prophetic silence, John is raised, and yet, his purpose is to point people to Jesus. The centre of all ministry must be Jesus Christ, Him and Him alone!John was to prepare the hearts of the people for the Messiah, and as a result he fearlessly confronted sin and called for repentance.John was a great man, and he shone brightly, but he only shone as he reflected the glorious light of Christ. From this remarkable man's example, we are challenged in our Christian lives to bear witness to the light. Our purpose should be to proclaim the wonder of Jesus Christ and the Gospel of Grace!
