This is the second review of C. H. Spurgeon's sermon, 'An Earnest Warning Against Lukewarmness.' Considered is the second characteristic of the lukewarm condition into which a church may gradually decline, that is, a 'mournful indifference and carelessness.' The text of the Laodicean letter, which gives rise to this characteristic, is expounded. Additionally, several prominent features of the ancient city of Laodicea are identified. It seems plain that the Laodicean church was shaped by the affluence of its surroundings. How much of this is true of us?
